Over the past several weeks, our contributor Jay Tomblin has been interviewing students from various political groups on campus in order to gauge their feelings on various issues facing our country. Here now is a representative of the student democrats and one of the student republicans here on campus, to share their thoughts on the current election cycle. And here to facilitate the discussion is Jay Tomblin.

Early Voting rocks Triangle
If you haven't been brought to your front door by the knocks of canvassers urging you to vote early yet... well, you may be the only one. But the efforts to encourage early voting here in the triangle have taken a more enjoyable turn, and a turn away from your front door.
This Friday, October 26, Durham's Central park will host a midday early voting rally. The rally will kick off at 11am and will feature three amazing acts and delicious soup to warm your heart and soul. Mac McCaughan (Superchunk, Portastatic), the triangle's own Spider Bags, and Titus Andronicus will all play to urge potential voters to get out and vote early. If you missed Spider Bags at Kings on September 20, let's just leave it at you don't want to miss these guys again.
Early voting kicked off in NC on October 18 and will continue until 5pm on November 3. NC State's own Talley Student Center is an early voting location this year, but there are 20 other locations through Wake and Orange counties housing early voting this year. To find your early voting location, check out the early voting websites for Wake and Orange counties. And don't forget -- even if you've forgotten to register to vote here in NC, you can still register AND vote in one stop at early voting.
Have your voice heard and get out to hear some awesome bands this election year!

EOT98 Packapalooza 8/21/12
It’s official, summer is over. Back to school. But before we hang up our swim trunks up for the year, let’s take one last look at the Wolfpack’s Summer 2012.
Packapalooza! Probably N.C. State’s biggest party of the year, meant to kick off the school year with a bang! This year was absolutely no exception.
Andrew went out recently in search of how N.C. State students feel about having a Chik-Fil A restaurant right on our campus. Good? Bad? You decide.
Last Friday was N.C. State’s largest blood drive, and Jake, who had never given blood before, decided it was something worth trying.
Caitlin Cauley is a representative of the Wake County Board of Elections, here to dispel some common misconceptions and to enlighten us on our right to vote.

EOT89 College Republicans and Democrats 4/10/12
College Republicans and College Democrats - With the North Carolina Primary quickly approaching, we invited representatives from the major political groups on campus to give input regarding the current political atmosphere, both locally and nationally.
Occupy Raleigh - Nine Occupy protestors were arrested this week in Raleigh after trespassing on a foreclosed home. Andrew has the scoop.
Nature Research Center - If you've been downtown lately, you've probably noticed a giant globe under construction. Yes, the Daily Planet has come to Raleigh, as part of the Natural Science Museum's brand new Nature Research Center, which is set to open on April 20th. Deondre' Jones recently sat down with the director of science communications for the new center.
Beer Brewing - Brewing is fast becoming one of the most popular interests among young entrepreneurs. So popular, in fact, that NC State recently began offering courses in the brewing sciences. Mark speaks to a student in the program.
NCSU Rocketry - Each year, NASA hosts a University Student Launch Initiative. Nick recently spoke with the NC State team to discuss their plan's for this year's competition.
